Social media has been in our lives for a long time now and it’s simply undetachable.
Certainly it made our lives incredibly easier, and made the idea of connecting with our loved ones a lot simpler. The financial world definitely got a huge boost and opened the field for the simple beginners or entrepreneurs.
But I think it gave many people the illusion of total freedom to do whatever they want and that’s what we are suffering from these days. The idea that no one can see me physically so I can write, take a photo, make a video of whatever I want, and on paper that seems so liberating but in fact it made the scale of the circle that we want to fit in vastly bigger so people get the urge of creating an opinion about everything and anything, doesn’t matter how unimportant or even how dangerous or corruptive it is. People also get the urge of going out of their way to attract attention from all around the globe, doesn’t matter the how, they could take off their clothes and upload some pictures and videos dancing or playing video games, they could make fun of people or religions or cults or prophets or even god himself. All they need is to be accepted in that circle to have likes and shares, or so they think.
There’re other cons of social media but for me this is the absolute hit.
Almost everything can be bad or good depending on the user and being famous should not be the ultimate goal of this life.
